Early Position Strategy

You should be extremely selective about the hands you play from early position – from the blinds and under the gun. You will be forced to play with a significant positional disadvantage, so only the best possible starting hands can compensate. Of course, if you think the player on the button is only trying to steal your blinds, you may need to defend occasionally with weaker holdings.
